I loved this recipe! I'm one of those that didn't appreciate the flavor of sweet potatoes unless it tasted like pumpkin pie=) The ingredients made this recipe too good to pass up. I followed the directions, quadrupling the recipe to feed 4 adults and a 4 & 5 year old. None of us could get enough-even the kids! The flavor of the sweet potatoes blended amazingly with the onions and pecans, and the maple syrup was not overpowering at all. Thanks!

We enjoyed this dish very much. I have never had the original, so can't comment on how successful the recipe is as a copycat, but it is a very nice side dish. I found it easy to make; the directions were accurate, including the baking time for the yam. I did end up sprinkling one packet of Splenda over the potatoes near the end, as I didn't think they were quite sweet enough. I served this with some pork chops & asparagus.

I used regular sweet potatoes for this one. I would saying it's a moderately easy recipe, but not TOO easy. All in all I thought it was good, and the smell was DEFINATELY a pleasing scent. I had to add more maple syrup to mine in the end though because I didn't think the flavor came through enough. Might make this one again.

I quadrupled the recipe for a family of 4 1/2. There was not much left over. I have never had the Tony Roma's but these were wonderful. I didn't have garnets so I used yams but otherwise followed fairly closely. Good recipe Martha

This was great. For a moment, I considered leaving out the onion cause it didn't seem in keeping with the other ingredients, but finally used it. Good thing, it caramelized and lent just the right amount of sweet-savouriness to a delicious recipe (along with the maple syrup). The pecans provided a pleasant crunch. Lovely dish - especially geared for the holidays.

I've never been to Tony Roma's so I can't do a comparison - but these were delicious! I used whatever kind of yams they sell at our market & shallots because I was out of onions - otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Thanx Martha!
