Pumpkin Pie Shake

"This was posted in response to a recipe request for someone on a soft food diet. I love pumpkin and I love milkshakes, so this is a great combination. Feel free to use regular vanilla ice cream & milk if you aren't watching calories, but the low fat version is great."

  1. I made this just as directed and it was one of the best milkshakes I've ever had! It tasted just like a slice of pumpkin pie! I can't wait to make it again!

  2. This was great. Everybody wanted thirds.

  3. WOW! So yummy! Made it this afternoon, enjoying it while it was snowing outside! I used pumpkin pie filling instead of the canned pumpkin as that was what I had in my pantry. Made for Potluck tag.

  4. Very nice shake! I used lowfat milk and regular french vanilla ice cream. I also used can whipped cream instead of cool whip. It does taste a lot like pumpkin pie but has a slighty gritty texture which I didn't care for.

  5. We loved this!! My DH was amazed at how much like pumpkin pie it tasted! :) Easy to make & delicious!! I didn't have pumpkin pie spice, so made 'zaar's dictionary recommended sub of 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. ginger, 1/8 tsp. cloves, & 1/8 tsp. nutmeg and then just used the appropriate amount of the mix in the recipe. The Cool Whip on top was too perfect! Thank you!!

Tweaks

  1. I dusted the top of the whipped cream with a bit of ground cinnamon for a bit of added flavor. Next time will garnish with a vanilla cookie of some kind to really bring out that pie flavor!

  3. This was delicious! I used fat free vanilla frozen yogurt in place of ice cream, and left out the Cool Whip. The flavor was excellent but I would have preferred a thicker shake, I could have just added additional frozen yogurt to control the texture but I decided to let it be as I didn't feel like altering the ingredients too much on my first try. Very good and very simple!
