Heavenly! I used 2 cups whole wheat flour instead of the 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour, and they turned out perfectly. These are very beautiful for a Christmas or holiday goody, and I think I'm going to add this to the usual list of treats I make for gifts each year.

These came out scrumptious! Next year I`ll bake them in a larger pan. So I`d have more bars to go around. They do rise alot! Great!

Having a coffee and a marzipan bar as I sit and type this, mmm mmmm, the marzipan flavour through this bar is divine. I used rum and craisins. Very good!

One of the best bars I have ever made or tasted. Just a little hint--- put the marzipan in the freezer for about 10 minutes before chopping--really makes a much easier job. Thank you. Joanie Biddulph

My daughter made these a couple of years ago and they were so darn good now I make them, too. I use brandy and they are delicious.

I served these at Thanksgiving and they were a HUGE hit. Delicious. I only made one small change to the recipe. I didn't have rum or brandy, so I used Grand Marnier instead. These were so good that I will continue to use the Grand Marnier. Thanks for the recipe. Perfect for the marzipan lover.

These are great bars, I have used this recipe for years, originally found it in a Canadian Living magazine! Great Christmas bars, but good anytime of the year. You can substitute the cranberries with dried cherries or raisins and they are still wonderful!
